About the Model
All of the planets, except for the Earth, were named after ancient Greek and Roman gods and goddesses. The name Earth comes from a German word, meaning “the ground.” Earth is our home planet with a dynamic surface of mountains and canyons. Most of our planet is covered in water. The Earth has one moon and it takes the Earth 365 days to orbit the Sun.
