Sluggers Stickball Bat
A Latino-made baseball bat made from everyday objects.
About the Model
When racism and discrimination barred Latinos from playing baseball they brought their own creativity. Puerto Rican, African American, and Dominican communities within New York City created their own game: Stickball. This game used the concrete of New York as the field and balls bouncing off buildings were still in play. This baseball bat was made from an inner bicycle tube and a broom handle.
