About the Model
Napoleon Bonaparte was a French soldier, politician, and Emperor of France. This bust of Napoleon Bonaparte was made ten years after his death, commissioned in 1829 by politician Alexander Murray. He wanted the bust to look like a Roman emperor, raised on the wings of eagles. The laurel wreath around his head and the shield on his chest are symbols of power.
