Cowbell
From  Smithsonian Institution
What sounds do you hear at a baseball game?
About the Model
Listen to the sounds of the baseball game. Fans celebrate in many ways. Some use musical instruments that celebrate their cultural heritage, such as drums, cowbells, and maracas. These musical instruments are changing the way baseball games sound. This handmade cowbell was used by the Nuñez Family during baseball games in Cuba, New York, and Florida to cheer on their favorite player. Some cowbells, such as this one have a clapper on the inside. When the cowbell is shaken the clapper produces a percussive sound.
