About the Model
This wine jug and many similar vessels were made in the late sixth century BC, north of Rome by the Etruscan civilization. This type of jug is known as Schnabelkanne. The Celts imported these Etrurian vessels and started to developed variants of these jugs. Many of these beak spouted vessels were used during funerals and placed in Celtic graves.
