About the Model
The balafon is a musical instrument from the xylophone family used in West Africa. This instrument is played with two wooden sticks striking the individual boards. At the top of the frame, eight boards are arranged from the largest to the smallest. The hollowed out gourd fruit are placed underneath the wooden boards to emit a full range of sounds.
