About the Model

A Life Mask of Abraham Lincoln made by Leonard Volk in 1860. This is the first of two life masks made of Lincoln. There is a huge difference between the two life masks: the first one was made right before the Civil War and Mr. Lincoln's face is energetic and optimistic. The other one, made right before his death, is sad and strained.
